Empowering women to take their seat at the table.

Women’s Municipal Campaign School is a volunteer-led committee that aims to teach women and those from diverse backgrounds how to run for office in the region.

Brief History

In 2003, former Councillor Jane Mitchell attended one of the first Women’s Municipal Campaign Schools in Ontario. This experience inspired her to bring this initiative to Waterloo Region. The first day was held on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 in Regional Council Chambers.

Our Goal

Our goal is to help the women of Waterloo Region get elected!

We want to show women why their presence is so important in elected office. We also aim to increase the ways women can support, run and/or mentor women for upcoming municipal campaigns.
